Philadelphia Casino Set To Restore Old Glory
September 14 2008
Philadelpiha has decided to use what other local economies use to make business thrive. Yes that being a local casino. Many major cities have them in the popular parts of their respective cities and Philadelphia might soon be one of them. The Philadelphia Casino might just be the next big thing, maybe.
Officials have decided that putting the multimillion dollar casino at the Gallery would be the best fit. The gallery is 31 years old and has never lived up to it’s expectations. That is the center of the city and where many small businesses are including local restuarants and bars. They would all feed off of the casino and hopefully all prosper for the better.
“I think the casino in The Gallery is something that would be seen as a big sort of demand generator and kind of impetus,” Stephen Mullin said who is the former city finance director under Mayor Ed Randell.
There have been many businesses that tried there luck with the area of Market East in Philadelphia. Man of them failed due to the fact that the perception of those who shop at Market East simply do not have the money for the stores that would like to be there.
The New Philadelphia Casino hopes to change this and bring the money back to the Gallery and Market East. Full details of the casino plan are scarce and hard to come by. The concensus is that gambling will spark good things for the markets in that area. Those being retail, hotel, office space, and restaurants. Market East maybe the major transit hub and home of the new Philadelphia Casino and provide the right mix for everyone.
