“You’re going to see why people are not happy to be here,” Vega said.  He was referring to his prosecution witness who is supposed to testify that Bey, 26, fired gun shots that Killed Moses Williams, 23.

This happened on September 24, 2000.

District Attorney CArlos Vega opening statement was a solid one.  He pointed out to the jury the fear that so many whitnesses face when brought to testify in a trial.  He pointed out that is why they are reluctant to testify.

Both whitnesses who were set to testify in this trail, both were tragically murdered.  The most recent Chante Wright, at 23, was gunned down with a friend when she snuck back into Philadelphia from whitness protection, to visit her sick ailing grandmother.

Defense attorney Joseph Santaguida said in his counter opening statement that there will be no evidence presented against his client, Hakeem Bey, beyond a reasonable doubt.  Bey faces the death penalty if convicted of this crime.

• 3 counts of endangering the welfare of children
• 3 counts of corruption of minors

Each of the above crimes carries a maximum of 5 years in prison.  Lynne Long Higham has not been sentenced yet, but Judge Rea B. Boylan has ordered her to continue her mental health conseling.

Long Higham’s home in April was where routine parties would take place for friends of her older son of two.  2 of the 6 box sleeping over at that time engaged in sex acts with Angela Honeycutt, who was Lynne Long Higham’s friend also staying over.

In July, one of the 15 year old boy’s testified that he had sex with Angela Honeycutt in the shower after she had lured him in.  Then a 14 year old boy had testified to the same and admited he engaged in sexual acts with Honeycutt also.

Long Higham worked i the health care industry did not take part in these sex acts but she was charged because she stood by knowing what was going on and then told one of the boys to not tell any authorities.
